Alpina developed the detailed design of railway works related to the 1st phase of the upgrade of the Freight Rail Yard. The main interventions are:

Upgrade of 4 tracks of the existing rail yard, in coordination with the position of the stacks of the existing highway viaduct, and redesign of the east root of the terminal;

Design of 2 additional tracks, in order to keep the operation during all the phases of work on the existing tracks;

Upgrade from 2 to 4 tracks for access to building VTE.

The project is compliant with the COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 1299/2014 of 18 November 2014 on the “technical specifications for interoperability relating to the ‘infrastructure’ subsystem of the rail system in the European Union”.
